Childhood with pigtails
Nadya Meikher was born on April 10, 1982 in the western Ukrainian village of Zbruchivka on the family couch, because she did not have time to get to the maternity hospital. The Maherov family lived not rich and not very friendly: the father drank heavily. But even this did not prevent the girl from an early age to show an irrepressible interest in life, and in particular, in classical music. Already from the age of 6, the little girl sought out ballet in the TV program and celebrated so as not to miss.
After some time, the Meyher family moved to the town of Volochysk, located 60 kilometers from Khmelnitsky. Here Hope and went to school. She studied well, fours and fives. Pretty soon the girl became a singer Nadezhda Meyher-Granovskaya attract male attention. At first, the same age boys peculiarly showed their attention: they twitched their braids, made fun of them, laughed … But not for long – Nadya always knew how to stand up for herself. By the time Nadezhda graduated from school, Mom filed for divorce because Dad had not stopped drinking all these years, and went to work in Italy, where she got a job as a nanny, and Nadia went to study at the Khmelnitsky Pedagogical College. At this time, the girl was invited to the center of culture “Podolie”, where she put on dancing. After graduating from college Hope, changing the name to the mother Granovskaya, went to Kiev. There she graduated from the Faculty of English at Kiev College. Ushinsky. About how the dark-haired beauty got into a new girl group, now there are legends. There are two versions. First: in 2000, singer Nadezhda Meikher-Granovskaya Khmelnitsky came on tour with Valery Meladze. He performed in the same theater where Nadia worked. Thanks to an acquaintance that took place, Nadezhda learned that the brother of the famous singer, Konstantin, was casting to a new group. Nadia arranged a photo session for herself and sent her to Kiev. Konstantin Meladze and Dmitry Kostyuk saw photos of Nadezhda and were invited to sample in the capital. The second is based on the fact that there was no acquaintance with Valery Meladze. Just producers Dmitry Kostyuk and Konstantin Meladze were looking for another singer in the group, and they needed a girl not only with good vocal skills, but also a bright, spectacular appearance, as well as artistic data. There were many suitable candidates for these criteria, but Konstantin decided to do it differently. Together with his brother, they went on a tour of the cities of Ukraine. During this tour, in one of the cities in his hands fell Nadia amateur photo session. It is this non-professional photo shoot that played a decisive role in the fate of Hope. Thus, the first line-up of the VIA Gra group was formed – Alena Vinnitskaya and Nadia Granovsky. At that time, the stage lacked something very bright, capable of capturing the attention of the listener, something completely new, capable of attracting the viewer with fundamental differences from others. We needed a team capable of equally successfully winning the hearts of the most demanding audience, which may surprise, create a positive mood.
Attempt number one
The first clip of the group – “Attempt No. 5” – achieved tremendous success, both in Ukraine and in Russia. For the next two years, the group continued to conquer the top of the charts, releasing one after another super-successful compositions: “Hug me”, “Bomb”, “I won’t be back”. In 2002, the situation in the group changed slightly: Hope had to leave the team because of pregnancy. But, giving birth to a son on August 15, 2002, who was named Igor in honor of his father, a successful Kiev businessman, for whom the girl had never married, Nadia recovers form and returns in a month.
